Savoy Theatre Program
A program for Savoy Theatre listing the films being shown from March 22nd-28th. On the front is an image of Tom Moore with his name and the words "Goldwyn Pictures Star" beneath it. The Realart Pictures Corp. 1919 silent film production of "Anne of Green Gables" is listed to show on the Friday starring Mary Miles Minter. Mary Miles Minter scrapbook.
A scrapbook with collected images of Mary Miles Minter who starred in the Realart Pictures Corp. 1919 production of "Anne of Green Gables". Some of the images are black and white and some are colour lithographs. Her age has been written either beneath or beside most of the images. The only other written text is a small poem that was cut out and placed with images of Minter when she was 3 and 8 years old. The scrapbook appears to be from the 1920s and the oldest recorded age of Minter is 20, dating some of the images to 1922., L.M. Montgomery Institute. Ryrie-Campbell Collection. Dedham, Mass. Fairbanks House, Built 1636 postcard.
A black and white photograph of the Fairbanks House in Dedham, Massachusetts, the oldest timber-frame building in New England. Construction began approximately in 1636 and ended in 1641, although these dates are debated. The house was used as a location in the Realart Pictures Corp. production of the 1919 silent film "Anne of Green Gables" starring Mary Miles Minter. On the back of the postcard is the inscription: "Where I saw them take the moving picture 'Anne of Green Gables'" but there is no signature. A booklet for the 2000 season of the Charlottetown Festival from May 31-October 14. The musical "Emily" starring Trish Lindstrom is based on "Emily of New Moon", "Emily Climbs", and "Emily's Quest" written by L.M. Montgomery and ran from June 15-September 1. The musical and lyrics were written by Richard Ouzounian and music was composed by Marek Norman. The "Anne of Green Gables - The Musical" is also presented in the booklet and is based off of the book "Anne of Green Gables" by L.M. Montgomery. It ran from June 20-September 9. A postcard, postdated October 4 1906, bearing a message in L.M. Montgomery's handwriting addressed to "Mr. Geo. B. MacMillan". George Boyd MacMillan (1881-1953) a journalist and writer of verse and song lyrics, who resided for most of his life Alloa, Scotland, had a voluminous correspondence from ca. 1903 until 1941 (shortly before her death).
