Former owner: L.M. Montgomery. Provenance: research by donor has verified that volume was owned by L.M. Montgomery based on an inscription that reads: "L.M. Montgomery Macdonald November 1923". This would have been inscribed while she was living at the Leaskdale Manse in Ontario. An imprint on the spine of this edition indicates it was published by Thomas Allen in Toronto, Ontario. Issued bound with green cloth with gilt lettering; green endpaper maps; colour frontispiece. The copyright is held by the author Samuel Merwin as well as McCall's Magazine, where it was initially published as "Silk: An Entrancing Novel of the Orient".
